National Library Week began on April 14th and concluded on Friday, April 18th, the theme this year was... "Join the Circle of Knowledge." The Clermont County Law Library celebrated April 14th - 16th with it's usual food, games and give aways. There was the much anticipated frame game, roll the dice game and two quizzes - Test Your Law Library Knowledge and Test Your Clermont County Knowledge.
Everyone who participated was awarded fabulous prizes including flashlight keychains, memo clips, badge holders, sunglass chips, memo cubes and many more fun items.
Some interesting facts from the 2008 "Knowledge Games"
1. Clermont County celebrated it's 207th birthday on Dec. 6, 2007.
2. Clermont County Law Library employees are hired and fired by the Board of Trustees.
3. The original seat of Clermont County government was Williamsburg, Ohio.
4. The staff has a total of 52 years of experience - Carol has been here 25 years, Kim 20 and Connie 7.
5. The Ohio River is the southern boundary of Clermont County.
6. Not all Ohio county law libraries are open to the public.
7. Clermont County measures about 452 square miles.
8. Ohio county libraries are funded by a portion of 'collected' traffic fines and forfeited bond money.
The traditional Support Staff Only luncheon was on Wednesday, April 16th. Over 75 support staff attended. The lunch was catered once again by Elegant Fare.. and the food and fellowship made for an excellent networking opportunity. It is definately an annual event not to be missed.
